This help file contains most of the information that you will require to make
use of the functions available in the administrator console. In order for the
administrator applet to be able to open this help URL, this file (and images
within) must be placed in the same directory as the administrator's JAR file.
The content herein is divided into the different windows or states that the
administrator can reach.

This is the main console which you will see immediately
when you log in as the administrator.
The functions you can perform here are listed below

This window is launched when you click on "Room
Manager" in the main console.
The functions you can perform here are listed below :
- Go To Room -- Use this to go to any room without
a need for password authentication.
- Open Room -- Open a room which has been closed.
- Purge Room -- Kick all users from the room,
all the users will be logged out. You cannot remove yourself if you
happen to be in the room.
- Set Password -- Open the Password Manager Window
for the selected room.
- Close Room -- Close a room to prevent any user
from entering the room. Current users in the room are unaffected and
can change room.
- Destroy Room -- Remove a room from the chat
system. The room must first be empty of users. This change is permanent
and is reflected on the server side.
- Create Room -- Type in a name for a new room
and click this to create it.
- Rename Room -- Select an existing room, type
in the new name and click this to rename the room.
- Send Message -- You can send a privileged administrator
message to a single room or to all rooms. Just click on "..
to All Rooms" to send to all and ".. to Selected Room"
to a single room you selected.
- Change Password -- This changes the administrator
password. Change is permanent and is reflected on the server side and
saved into your administrator password file.
- Close -- Close the Room Manager Window.
You can click on any of the rooms listed to see who are
the users in that particular room.

This window is launched when you click on "Set
Password" for a selected room in the Room Manager. Everytime
this window is opened, you are configuring passwords for a selected room
in the Room Manager, and not all the rooms. To change room to configure
for, select another room in the Room Manager and click "Set Password"
again. The Password Manager will refresh itself according to the settings
of that room.
The functions you can perform here are listed below :
- Add -- Add a user with his/her password to the
room.
- Change -- Changes a user's password. To change
a user's login name, remove his old entry and key in the new login name
and password.
- Remove -- Remove the selected user.
- Remove All -- Remove all users and their passwords
from the room.
- Activate Room Password-Protection -- Protect
the room with a general password which all users can use to access the
room.
- Activate User Password-Protection -- Protect
the room with users' login name and password entries.
- Save -- Save all changes that you have made.
All changes are temporary until this has been clicked or you are prompted
to save them.
- Close -- Close the Password Manager window.
If you have both modes of password-protection activated,
users can use either of the passwords to gain access to the room. Please
note that users cannot direct-login to a password-protected room.

This window is launched when you click on "Profanity
Manager" in the main console.
The functions you can perform here are listed below :
- Add -- Add profanities to the list. You can
add multiple entries seperated by commas. Entries can be a single word
or a phrase.
- Delete -- Delete one or more entries in the
list. To delete more than one entry, just click on the items in the
list.
- Clear All -- Remove all profanity entries from
the list.
- Enable Profanity Detection -- Toggles profanity
detection for all rooms.
- Filter messages with profanity -- Toggles profanity
filter. If this is activated, messages with profanity in them will not
be displayed to the other users in the room. The offence is still counted
against the culprit.
- Auto-kick user when limit exceeded -- Toggles
automatic kicking of vulgar users who persist on using profanities.
Indicate the number of times the user can commit the offence before
being kicked out in the Auto-kick Limit box.
- Auto-kick permanent -- If activated, users who
are kicked out cannot log in to the chat system again.
- Save -- Save all changes that you have made.
- Close -- Close the Profanity Manager window.

This window is launched when you click on "Configure"
in the main console.
The functions you can perform here are listed below
:
- Add -- Add a single IP address or a range
of IP addresses to the list. Examples of valid entries include "127.0.0.1",
"169.45.30-70.*", "56.*.*.*".
- Delete -- Delete one or more entries in the
list. To delete more than one entry, just click on the items in the
list.
- Save -- Save all changes that you have made.
- Close -- Close the Profanity Manager window.
To change your administrator password, key in the new
password and click on "Save".
